| The Wax Stick |
| Use Wax Beads, or cut your Wax Sticks into smaller pieces and use a metal measure cup (non-stick, or aluminum foil lined) to melt and keep the chunks molten, using low temperature.
This way you will avoid "streaking" caused by direct flame; it is easier to pour and meter the molten wax and there is no smoke! |
| The Wax Seal |
| 1. Place your Waxent Brass Stamper over the location where you'd like to create your Wax Seal, use a pencil to draw a line around its perimeter, thereby highlighting its contour.
2. Pour the molten wax over the drawn contour, to create an enclosed "wall" of wax. 3. Fill in the well you created, use a different color for a more unique appearance, wait a few seconds and press the Brass Stamper to finish the seal. It is best, if you make a few "practice" seals, before sacrificing an expensive Invitation, or ruin a finished Envelope. These additional tips are specific to our product line, enabling you to pre-make your wax seals and use them a later time.
Complete the above recommended steps (1-3) on Silicone Treated Release Paper (supplied by Scrapbooking & Collage Supply stores) and continue with the final steps listed below. 4. Once the Wax Seal has solidified and cooled down, remove it carefully from the release paper. This way the "not-so-perfect" Wax Seals can be remelted and reused! 5. Apply double-back sticky dots we supply to the finished seals, to adhere them to any flat and dry surface. The body of the Brass Stamper you purchase from Waxent® is oversized, allowing you to make dozens of impressions without the Stamper getting too hot. If you are planning to make a lot of Wax Seals it is a good idea leave your Brass Stamper in the refrigerator for a while, prior to making the Wax Seals. Need to make lots of Wax Seals? Consider using our pre-made Self adhering Replica Wax Seals instead. |
